Zira teknolojik konulardan ziyade popülist konulara ilgi duyuyoruz. Ortaya birşeyler çıkartmak üzere gayret sarf etmeliyiz. Benim görüşüm bu yöndedir.

Ortak çalışma yapmak isteyenler: burgutex@hotmail.com adresinden bana bağlansınlar lütfen.

Teşekkürler.

Ben kafaya taktım bu bot olayını.. Çözesiye kadar da durmam. MSN Messenger Buddies panelinde "Got Bot's?" diye bir bölüm var. Orada şu bilgiler yer almaktadır:

BOT TAB

Bots are simple programs that you interact with through MSN® Messenger to get more information about specific topics. Some bots respond to your questions much like a real person would in a Messenger conversation, while others simply provide information through a menu and the basic questions or commands you enter.

Featured Bots

Movie Scout
moviescout@botmetro.com
With MovieScout you can find movies near you. Search by genre or look at what's playing at your favorite movie theater. You can also watch a movie trailer for one of the new Warner Brothers movies in the Activity window.

Schick: Cindy Elizabeth John
cindyej@botmetro.net
Get your daily horoscope and check out the latest in entertainment gossip, music and more by simply adding Cindy Elizabeth John to your MSN Messenger friends list.

Secret Sparkle
secretsparkle@botmetro.net
Hey girls! You can get the latest scoop on TV and movie gossip, awesome beauty and fashion tips, and music suggestions from the Secret Sparkle personalities? Simply add a Secret Sparkle friend to your MSN Messenger friends list and start chatting

Other Bots

Q6 Trivia q6trivia@hotmail.com
Encarta Instant Answers encarta@botmetro.net
Fox 24Inside Answers fox24inside@hotmail.com
Smarterchild smarterchild@hotmail.com
ESP Billy espbilly@msn.com

Monkey Bites - MSN IM API TLA TTLE

Now’s your chance. According to Alfred Thompson’s blog, Microsoft and Conversagent are giving away free licenses for their BuddyScript SDK for MSN Messenger. Now developers can build their own IM bots for MSN Messenger at no charge. The free license period lasts “at least six months,” but the company will extend the licenses beyond the initial six month term for developers who create a groundbreaking bot.

Users have had the ability to create their own chat bots for a while. RunABot hosts an online community for bot builders, and there are already several software applications available for bot creation. The Conversagent SDK goes the extra step by allowing for integration with MSN Activities and Games.

Computer Science Teacher

Alfred Thompson's blog about teaching computer science at the K-12 level. Alfred was a high school computer science teacher for 8 years. He has also taught grades K-8 as a specialist. He has written several textbooks and project books for teaching Visual Basic. Alfred is the K-12 Computer Science Academic Relations Manager for Microsoft.

Create your own IM BOT!

Nicole, from the MSN Messenger group (Windows Live Messenger?), has a blog entry about some existing Bots that you can use from MSN Messenger and some suggestions of Bots she would like to see.  You may have already heard about the Encarta® Instant Answers BOT (Encarta@conversagent.com ),  that lets you ask questions which it then looks up for you in Encarta. Nicole lists a whole bunch more. Her blog is worth reading for that alone. But it gets better.

The idea of talking to a computer and getting answers that appear to come from a real person has long been the goal of computer programmers everywhere. It looks like now there is the chance for a lot more of us to try that sort of program out for ourselves.

Conversagent, in partnership with Microsoft, is making a free license available to their BuddyScript Software Development Kit (SDK) for creating BOTs and what are called Activity applications so that people can create their own BOTs.

Think about writing a BOT that answers question about your school? Or perhaps reports back on the scores of sports teams? How about a BOT that people can ask if there is a snow day? Well, that may be more useful where I live than some other places. But you get the idea.

This may very well be a good project for a student or team of students. And if they make a very good one Conversagent may wave the normal six month limit on the license. At the very least they can try to make a BOT that gets their friends to wonder if it is a BOT or a real person they are talking to?

What is Ben's MSN Bot?

Basicly, it's a program that logs in into the MSN network and tries to keep track of users. The information it collects can be used in web applications. The MSN Status indicator is it's main purpose.

The MSN Status Indicator?

The MSN Status Indicator is a way to show your MSN presence as an on-line image, which can be used on for instance webpages and forums. For example, here is mine :  .

The indicator currently recognizes the following statusses:

Online
Idle/Away/Be Right Back/Out To Lunch
Busy/On The Phone
Offline/Appear Offline
Signed in from MSN Web Messenger
Signed in on a mobile device
Offline Mobile

Web MSN Messages

Besides that, I also have an option to send messages from a webpage to your MSN account. I am not sure how usefull this is though, since it isn't possible to reply. To receive messages on your MSN from people visiting your website you need to be a user of the bot and use a html form with an "action" that points to a script on my website. For details on how to use it, see my forum, or to test it try my test page.

Requirements

Adding The Bot

To use the bot functions you first need to be monitored by it. Since Microsoft limits the amount of people one can have on a MSN contactlist it was necessary to create more than one bot. You'll need to find a bot which still has some space on it's list. Currently msnbot29@bencastricum.nl was recently launched and has to most free space. Add that bot to your list and type "!findbot" (without the quotes) to check which bot has currently the most free space. If this is not the bot you added, delete the one you added and add the one the bot gave you. If all goes well, typing "!uid" (again without the quotes) should give you your uid, which is your personal identifier. This uid can be used to access the bot's features.

The Status Indicator

All you need to do is use the url

;uid>.png
as an image source. Replace the <uid> part with the uid you get from the bot. To obtain your uid, open a chat session with the bot and type "!uid" (without the quotes ofcourse).

Troubleshooting

One bot can only monitor a limited amount of people. If you get 'You are not monitored by this system.' message then the bot you added is probably full. Deleting your current bot(s) from your list and add the one the bot gives you with the !findbot command should fix this.
Also do not add more than one bot to your list. You can only be monitored by one bot.

If you still experience any problems try the forum. Due to the overwelming amount of crap mail I received I don't read mail sent to any msnbot account.

Free Conversagent license
February 1st, 2006

If you’re a developer and are interested in developing a BOT for MSN Messenger, then now is your chance to create one! Together with Microsoft, Conversagent (”famous” for their BuddyScript SDK) is now offering free licenses for their SDK. This allows you to develop rich IM applications, capable of most new features that come with MSN Messenger without having to worry about whether the access to the server is legal or not.

The offer will last for 6 months, so get them while they’re hot! With the licenses you can have up to 50,000 sessions per month, but you can request to have this limit removed for the remainder of the period. Another advantage of using the SDK is that the RL list will be cleared of any limitations so you can have (in theory) an unlimited number of users.

Also check out the post made by Todd Biggs over at the MSDN Forums to get more information about the SDK, and some hints to get you started

Free Tools for Building BOTS/Activities within Messenger

Starting today Conversagent one of MSN Messenger’s platform ISV’s has decided to make a version of it’s SDK for building BOTS and Activity applications on MSN Messenger available for free.  The offer will provide developers use of their tools free for six months to build applications within Messenger.  The SDK limits the number of sessions to 50,000 per month however on a case by case basis Conversagent will remove all session constraints for the remaining period.  BOTS developed with these tools with have the RL (reverse limit) limitations removed.
With these tools a developer can build rich IM applications for MSN Messenger that combine a BOT in the conversation window linked to rich application in the Activity window—such as the Encarta® Instant Answers (add Messenger contact encarta@conversagent.com), ESP Billy (espbilly@msn.com), or IM Local (imlocal@msn.com).

It’s great to see a partner like Conversagent making tools available to help drive innovation and mash-ups within MSN Messenger.  I look forward to seeing the many new applications within Messenger.  For more information, here are some helpful links:

Register and download the Conversagent SDK for MSN Messenger here

For the Messenger Activity API here
For examples of what can be built with the Activity API here
For questions on about building on Messenger here

Need ideas on what to build?  Here’s a list of ten to get you started:

An application that enables you to find a great house for sale or apartment to rent, and uses the Activity window and Windows Live Local in the Activity window to see the overhead of the surrounding area
An application that interacts with the user to answer product questions, and uses the Activity window to display rich product information or enable product configuration on the fly
An auction application where the BOT in the conversation window helps you find the item you’re looking for and then allows you to preview and bid for it in the activity window
A booking finding application where the BOT updates you on new items, and then previews them for you in the application window
An application where the BOT answers questions about particular travel destinations, while giving you a video or slide show of the destination they’re discussing in the Activity window
Any number of games (tic-tac-toe, chess, go, etc..) where the BOT interacts with you while playing against you in the Activity window
A customer support application where the BOT answers technical questions, and shows how to make product configuration changes in the Activity window
A an application where the BOT helps users search for images with MSN Search, which are then displayed in the Activity window
An application that suggests some perfect gift ideas, and allows you to preview and purchase the item in the Activity window
An application where the BOT can update you on current road conditions for your drive home, and in the Activity window show you feeds from road cams, the current congestion maps, and map alternative routes

Please contact me with any questions.

YARIŞMA HAKKINDA BİRAZ BİLGİ VERELİM:

Robots or "BOTs", are software programs that you can add to MSN® Messenger and Windows Live™ Messenger. If you add a robot to your contact list, it can chat, give you customer service support, perform searches, make suggestions, play games and more.

We’re looking for the best new robot ideas for Messenger. And $40,000 in fantastic prizes go to the top BOTs! Follow these eight steps to compete:

1. Download an SDK
Use one of three free toolkits to build your robot for MSN Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.
>> Learn more and download

2. Build a robot!
Get creative. Get crazy. Make the most useful, exciting robot you can. Just be sure to follow our judging criteria (below).

Using MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger, add botprovision@hotmail.com to your contact list and initiate a conversation to register your Robot with MSN. Then follow the prompts to provide your contact information, address and PUID for your Robot application.

4. Advertise! Or don’t
You can put ads in your BOT through our partner Kanoodle (available only for US-based partners.)
>> Learn more

5. Host the robot on your server
Publish your BOT to a personal Web space. You must host your robot until November 15, 2006.

6. Enter your robot here
Come back to this site and complete our registration form. We’ll ask for a short description of your BOT, a thumbnail screenshot and your robot’s ID. If your application is approved, we’ll post your screenshot and a link to your robot in the Gallery.

7. Vote for BOTs!
Head to the Robot Gallery and vote for your favorite entries. You can vote for more than one BOT, as often as you like. And yes—you’re allowed to choose your own robot. Tell your friends to cast ballots, too!

Votes aren’t part of the judging criteria. But at the end of the contest, the robot with the most votes wins the $500 User’s Choice Award. And BOTs with the most votes are featured on the first page, where more people will see them.

8. Win!
In October, we’ll choose the best robots based on the judging criteria below. The Grand Prize, 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-place winners split $40,000 in prizes. And the best robots will be promoted on MSN Messenger and Windows Live Messenger!

HANGİ ADRESE BAKACAKSINIZ?

Ödüllü yarışma 15 Kasım'da sona erecek. Bu tarihe kadar BOTunuzu hostinge sokmanız gerekiyor. Peki hangi adresten bilgi alabileceksiniz?

Create Your Own MSN Chat Room Hosting Bot

Ever been to a user-created MSN chat room and noticed they have a special hosting bot that does all the dirty work for them, catching all those dirty words and spammers, keeping out the troublemakers, and keeping track of who should be set as hosts? Ever wished you knew how to get one for your own chat room? Well, stop wishing. I am going to walk you through it step-by-step. In this tutorial we will be creating and running a hosting bot using a program called ViperBot. So let's get started…

ViperBot Installation

Install ViperBot Full Setup 3.83.9 (()
Follow the on-screen installation instructions
Make sure ViperBot is not running
Install the vocx.exe/HarryPotter patch (() into C:/Program Files so you can connect to MSN Chat
Install the Database Editor (()
Run ViperBot
Using Your Passport ID to Connect (Optional)

You don’t have to use a Passport ID for your bot, in fact it’s a lot easier to just simply connect as a guest. But if you don't want your bot to have "Guest_" appended before your UserID when you connect to a chat room then adding your passport info will solve that. So to use your own Passport ID nickname and profile, you will need to do the following:

Login to chat.msn.com (()and go into any chat room from your regular browser
Next right click above the chat box next to the title of the chat room
Choose "View Source"
Notepad will now open with the source code. Go to the "Edit" menu and choose the "Find" option, and search for "MSNREGCookie"
The info you want is the data that comes after VALUE=" and before ">';
Using the Find option, copy & paste the info for MSNREGCookie, PassportTicket and PassportProfile into the bottom three empty boxes in Viperbot. Make sure to paste them in this specific order:
You are now ready to connect and create a new room
Just remember that your Passport information changes daily, so you may need to re-do these steps if you can’t connect
Connecting to a Chat Room

If known, simply enter the URL of the chat room in the URL text box
Or use the MSN Chat menu to browse and select desired chat room
Remember your bot will only have the power to host if you are the owner of the chat room
Create your own room

Click on the Create Menu button
Enter desired Room Name
Enter a Topic
Choose your Category, Language, and Locale
Click Create when finished
Before we go on, make sure you are in <<Bot Mode>> - it should say so on the top bar of the program right next to where it says ViperBot 3.83. If you get an error while connecting then you likely have installed the vocx.exe/HarryPotterPatch in the wrong directory and ViperBot cannot find it.

ViperBot Control Board

Right-click the ViperBot icon in the System Tray (where the time is) and select 'Open Control Board'. Here is where you can set up the various options for your bot.

Setting the Auto-Welcome Message:

When set, your bot will automatically send a welcome message to every member who joins your room

Navigate under the General Tab to the Welcome Options box
Double-click the bottom message line to enter in the Welcome Message
Double-click the Font text box to change the Font options
Check 'Welcome' to activate the Welcome Message
Choose the Message location:
Check 'Whis. In main’ to whisper the Welcome on the Main Screen

DataBase Editor

You can access the Database editor from the extra menu in ViperBot's Main Chat Screen. There are 3 sections here we’ll use; Words, Messages, and Advertisements.

Words
This is where you can add, delete or change words you would like ViperBot to watch out for. Enter the word you would like to add in the Edit warn/Kick Words white box and click Add. You can also use the arrow keys to scroll through the various entered words and change/delete them. Each word also has a number level assigned to it. The levels are: 1-15 = kick, 16-45 = Warn/Message, 46 = Spectator, 47-50 = Spectator with Message. (NOTE: If you delete words, always leave at least one word in the list.) To use this feature you need to check off the Profanity W\K box in the ViperBot Controls Kick/Warn Tab.

Messages
This works directly in relation to the Bad Word list. These are used for ViperBot's various kick messages applying to the number level you assigned to the Bad Word list. Simply use the arrows to Message 1 to change what ViperBot says when a Level 1 word is said in Chat.

Advertisements
Fairly straight forward here. Use the arrows to edit the Sample Ads by entering your own Ad in the Change white box. Type the Ad in the Add white box for a new Advertisement. To use this feature you will need to have enabled the Auto Refresh/Re-Join/Plus Adv feature in the ViperBot Controls General Tab.

Extras

Welcome Message codes: nk$, me.nk$, |, +|
Advertisement Codes: me.nk$, |, +|
Time Codes: nk$, me.nk$, |, +|
Legend
nk$ = guests nickname
me.nk$ = Viperbot's nickname
| = line break
+| = message break

That's the basics for getting started, and all I am going to cover here. There are still many other advanced features that Viperbot can implement, but for the average user, this should cover pretty much all the necessities. Good luck with your Bot, and feel free to ask any further questions in the Bots & Agents Forum.

Interesting use of Bots

When you get a chance,  add the following two MSN contacts to your contacts list

encarta@conversagent.com
bbcbackstage@hotmail.com
The former is basically a bot that links to some of the Encarta knowledgebase and brings you back the answers.  Quite a cool little tool if you want to get a quick answer to something and it will even point you in the direction of the Encarta website if it doesnt know the answer

The latter is a link to the BBC tv listings.  Start off by saying 'hello' and then just follow the prompts to get back the information you need.

These are two excellent examples of IM bots and I think it would be great to see more of these in years to come things like directory enquiries,  train operators (to see when the next train is coming leaving for Reading for example), NHS (to suppliment the NHS Direct phone service) and cinemas for film listings to name but a few.

Feel free to post comments on any other suggestions or things you would like to see this used for !

MSN Bot

Currently msnbot28@bencastricum.nl has the most free space.

If you still experience any problems try the forum ((). Due to the overwelming amount of crap mail I received I don't read mail sent to any msnbot account.

Botun şu özellikleri olmalı;

1. Instant penceresi içinde, verilmiş olan linklere tıklanınca Planet Burgut websitesine yönlendirme yapılmalı (MSN Encarta botundaki gibi)

Bunu dergiye konu yaparlarsa sevinirim. Ama yüzeysel geçilmemeli, neyi nasıl yapacağımızı bize anlatmalılar.
